Erica's eyes dimmed as she fell to her knees, pleading with Bobby to come home and talk.

But Bobby kicked her in the chest, sending her to the ground.

After arguing with onlookers, Bobby finally pulled Erica up and took her home.

Once home, Erica endured another round of beatings. Silent tears streamed down her face.

By nightfall, Erica lay motionless on the floor.

I logged into the account I pretended to be Kingsley and sent Erica a message. "Erica, leave your husband and come live with me. He will beat you to death. Look at the flowers on my balcony. I care for them every day to brighten your mood. A woman is like a flower, only with love and patience can she truly bloom. Let's leave this neighborhood and start fresh elsewhere. My heart aches for your suffering."

Seeing the texts, Erica snapped out of her daze. She hugged her knees and cried bitterly while staring out the window.

At that moment, I emerged from my room with iodine to treat Erica's wounds.

Still resentful of my earlier words and my summoning of Bobby to school, Erica dodged my hand and sneered, "You're just enjoying this, right? If you hadn't told your dad about me, I wouldn't have been in this situation."

I forced tears as I replied, "Mom, you once said my dad didn't hit you and that it was just a game of love between you two. You insisted you loved him and wouldn't let me take you away. But seeing you like this today scared me. Will he really beat you to death?"
