Finally, Bobby stumbled back home, clearly drunk. He laughed as he looked at Erica. "Your face is all bruised. Did you put on some blush?"

Erica's jaw tightened, and her hands were clenched at her sides. "I need to talk to you."

Bobby collapsed onto the sofa and kicked at her with his foot. "What is it? Get me a glass of water. Damn, this wine is giving me a headache."

Erica remained still, staring at the spot where he kicked her. "I said I have something to say."

Bobby shot her a blank look and continued to lounge.

"I'm divorcing you. I can't live with you anymore," Erica declared.

At that, Bobby shot up and grabbed her by the neck. "You want to die? Did Jamie Perry seduce you? Give me your phone!"

Erica quickly hid her phone behind her back, but Bobby overpowered her and snatched it away.

The screen displayed her message to "Kingsley" about eloping.

Just then, I rushed over, pretending to intervene. "Dad, you're going to strangle my mom! There must be a misunderstanding!"

"Misunderstanding? She's been cheating on me for ages! Erica, you want a divorce? Over my dead body! Even if I die, I'll take you with me!" Bobby hissed.

He watched as Erica's face flushed and her eyes rolled back before finally releasing her.

Erica began to cough violently, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I've been with you since I was eighteen. We had nothing back then and couldn't even afford a child. We've come so far. How can you do this to me?"

Bobby held a cigarette between his lips, his eyes glued to the chat log on Erica's phone. "Did you think about us when you flirted with another man? Trying to play the emotional card to get a divorce? Dream on! You've had your eye on his money for a while, haven't you? You think being with him will give you a better life? I won't let that happen! I want to tie you up and beat you whenever I want!"

Hearing this, I brought over a tray of fruits, holding a knife. "Dad, mom, stop fighting and eat some fruits."

I turned to Bobby. "Dad, my mom is probably just upset. She used to love you, even during fights."

Neither paid me any attention.
