Eleanor let out a lazy hum and said, “Then make it two months.”

“I promise, if the two of them are ever in the same room, I’ll stay far away. I won’t meddle again. They’re a married couple flirting. I have nothing to do with it.”

With tears and snot streaming down her face, Megan chased after her parents, shouting.

But Eleanor and Robert had clearly made up their minds. No matter how Megan wailed, they didn’t look back

once.

When Megan finally caught up, the door slammed shut with a bang right in front of her.

If she hadn’t stepped back in time, the door might have smacked her right on the nose,

Megan rubbed her nose, comforting her wounded little heart. “Sorry, I almost bumped into you just now.”

She glared at her ruthless parents and shouted, “You’re both so heartless, be careful or one day you’ll lose me!”

But her powerless rage brought no response from them.

They had shut her out of the room and had no intention of opening the door.
