Cecilia nestled comfortably in Owen's arms, sighing, "I really do miss Lucy. We've known each other for so many years, went to college together, started our little bakery, and now she's back in her hometown, Skywatch. It's only been two days, but it feels like forever."

"Do you want to see snow?" Owen asked out of the blue.

"Of course," Cecilia replied instinctively, a bit puzzled by his sudden question. "Every time I see snow on TV, even though it looks freezing, it's so beautiful. I once told Lucy that when we make enough money, we'll travel up north in winter to see the snow."

"Snow-covered landscapes, like in those holiday postcards, are always stunning," Owen mused with a hint of jealousy. "It's obvious you miss Lucinda. Good thing she's a woman. If she were a guy, I'd be worried sick all the time."

"Skywatch gets heavy snowfall in the winter. When the first snow falls, I'll take you there. We can enjoy the snow, sip on some hot cocoa, and visit your dear friend Lucinda."

"Really?" Cecilia's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Have I ever lied to you?" Owen grinned.

"You've lied to me plenty of times," she teased.

Owen feigned a look of innocence. "I brought you some snacks," he changed the subject, "fresh out of the oven. Better eat them while they're warm, and I've got some hot coffee too."

Cecilia opened a box of freshly baked pastries and offered one to Owen. When he didn't move, she playfully fed him a piece.

"Avery stopped by earlier," she mentioned casually.

Owen tensed up. "What for? Don't tell me he still has a thing for you?"

"You do know he's gay, right? And yet you always see him as a rival. It's exhausting. Honestly, I should be the one worrying. What if he suddenly falls for you and decides to whisk you away?" Cecilia laughed.

"Don't worry," Owen chuckled. "I only like women. If I were into guys, I'd be chasing after Stefan. He's got more charm than Avery."

Stefan, unbeknownst to them, rolled his eyes somewhere. "Thanks for not loving me, Owen."

"Avery's left Pinehurst," Cecilia continued.

Owen sipped his coffee and frowned, "This isn't your brew, is it?"

"My younger sister made it. You really can taste the difference, can't you?" Cecilia marveled.

"That bull left Pinehurst? Cedric dumped him?" Owen said, putting the cup down. "Even though I helped him out, Cedric just used him and tossed him aside. That's low."

"No, it wasn't Cedric. Avery decided to leave after both families pressured him. He wants them both to have a fresh start," Cecilia explained.

"Fair enough," Owen nodded. "Honestly, if my son were into men instead of women, I'd be upset too and try everything to set him straight."

"Cecilia, when we have kids, let's raise them alongside the Anderson family's children. If we have a daughter, she'll grow up with their kids. If it's a son, and the Andersons have a little girl, they can be childhood sweethearts. Less chance of things going sideways," Owen suggested.

Cecilia chuckled, "You're just trying to join the Anderson family, aren't you?"

"I just think they have a great family vibe. Our kids would benefit from growing up with them," Owen said earnestly.

"What if Lucy stays in Skywatch? Our kids might never meet," Cecilia pointed out.

"Pinehurst is Stefan's home, and Lucinda grew up here. They'll come back once she inherits her dad's estate. Mark my words," Owen predicted confidently.

"And you're close with Tiffany too. Our kids growing up with her kids wouldn't be bad either. Just don't let them pick up her makeup skills," Owen added with a laugh.
