Anastasia's gaze swept across the room. "I hear you're on strike?"

Her clear voice, though not loud, carried an undeniable authority that made it impossible for anyone to ignore her.

As the employees looked up from their phones and conversations, Anastasia continued, "As far as I know, the R&D department has always received the best benefits and compensation in this company. Unison Pharma has never mistreated you."

Ms. Evelyn's face darkened at her words. Unison Pharma had invested so much in these people, and instead of showing gratitude, they were now threatening the company. They were effectively Lauren's private army, funded by Unison Pharma.

"Unison Pharma hasn't mistreated us, but we only work for a capable boss!" a female researcher declared, stepping forward.

"But now, Ms. Brennan has been driven out, so we have no reason to continue working."

Her tone became openly threatening. "You want us to come back to work? Fine. Bring Ms. Brennan back. She's the only boss we recognize."

But Rose, infatuated with Jonas, had forgotten the company's generosity and willingly sided with Lauren.

Anastasia despised such ingratitude. Her lips pressed into a thin line.

Before Rose could say more, Anastasia held up a hand, cutting her off. "That's enough. I only came here to find out what Unison Pharma did to deserve being kicked while it's down."
