Katherine, eager to grab everyone’s attention, abruptly cut off the conversation between Sean and Dylan.

“Mr. Austin, I heard you’re here in Nion to check out our Dynamic Buildings project. Coincidentally, I majored in architectural design at university and even entered a few competitions. Would you mind if I asked you some questions?”

Alan cringed at the mention of those so-called competitions. He knew very well that the contests Katherine boasted about were nothing more than second-rate events, and her work hardly showed any real skill. He wished she would just keep quiet before she embarrassed herself in front of Dylan.

But Dylan seemed intrigued. “Oh? What kind of competition?”

Seeing Dylan’s interest, Katherine perked up immediately. “I took part in the Green Dream Architectural Design Competition and even won an Outstanding Design Award.”

Dylan raised an eyebrow. Green Dream? He’d never heard of it, but he didn’t interrupt.

Katherine shot a smug glance at Rebecca, then pressed on, “Miss, you’re Mr. Austin’s assistant, right? I’m sure you’re familiar with architecture as well. I’ve always been curious—when designing a large commercial complex, how do you balance functionality and aesthetics? It seems so hard to achieve both at once.”

To Katherine, it sounded like a very professional question, but in truth, she just wanted to show off in front of Dylan—and see Rebecca flounder.

If Rebecca failed to answer, Katherine would jump in and steal the spotlight. She was already picturing everyone looking at her with newfound respect.
