Sophia pushed the door open and walked in, with Lemira following behind. As she entered, she noticed Asher and a distinguished-looking lady sitting at the head of the table—Mrs. Waverly, presumably.

As for Evander and Evelina, they were probably still being held up at the entrance.

Sophia moved comfortably to Mrs. Waverly's side, engaging her in conversation like an old friend.

Lemira didn't rush over. Without understanding Mrs. Waverly's intentions, she preferred to keep her distance.
