Ariana’s fingers came in contact with Brian’s muscles which were almost burning to the touch. 

She immediately tried to pull her hand back, but Brian didn’t give her the chance. Instead, he tightened his grip 

even more. 

“Answer me.” 

Brian propped one hand on the couch, his entire body mere inches from Ariana. 

“Whose abs are better to the touch? Theirs, or mine?” 

Ariana’s hand was soft and delicate in his grasp as if it might snap if he applied a little more force. 

Perhaps it was the alcohol, but a sudden urge surged through Brian–an urge to pin Ariana beneath him and make her beg for mercy. 

He wanted to see the feisty, sharp–tongued woman–who had repeatedly provoked him–lying under him, eyes red, crying, and pleading. 

The thought sent a rush of heat through Brian’s body. 

Feeling the heat radiating from his body, Ariana immediately yanked her hand back. Her face darkened as she raised her hand and slapped Brian hard. 

“You pervert!” 

The slap wasn’t particularly forceful, but it left a noticeable red mark on one side of Brian’s face. 

By the time Brian came back to his senses, Ariana had already bolted. 

“What’s going on? What did you just do?” 

Outside the room, Isaac saw Selena rushing after Ariana. 

In the room, Brian rubbed his face with a darkening expression. “Tell the owner of the club that I don’t want to see any of the male escorts who were just in this room ever again.” 

Isaac stood frozen as Brian stormed out of the private room. 

What the hell just happened? 

Selena fumed when they were outside the nightclub, “Brian Lodge is too controlling! I saw a bunch of gorgeous girls in his room earlier. Why, then, wouldn’t he let us have any fun? He even kicked everyone out!” 

Ariana and Selena hailed a cab. Both had had a bit to drink, so driving wasn’t an option. 

“Ari, he didn’t do anything to you, did he?” Selena asked. 

“No, not really… But it’s just… strange.” 

Ariana could still feel the warmth of his ab 

lingering on her fingertips. 

Wait. Wasn’t it normal for a man to be furious and disgusted when he saw his fiancée hanging out in a room full of male escorts? Shouldn’t he have Immediately called off the engagement? 

What on earth was Brian doing? He didn’t even break off the engagement.

Ariana massaged her temples. “I want to dump him too…” 

But she needed to have the power to do so. Brian’s family was way too powerful compared to her family. 

Unless Belinda or Brian himself agreed to call off the engagement, the Torrey family’s hands were tied. 

Besides, Gwen kept pushing her towards Brian at every chance. 

“Hey, why don’t you ask William or Victor for help? I heard they’re both really close to you! They both like you, don’t they?” 

Hearing this, Ariana froze. “Where did you get that from?” 

“Everyone in our circle says so.” 

Selena pulled out her phone and looked through her chat history. Sure enough, there were plenty of messages in the group 

chat gossiping about Ariana’s close relationships with William and Victor.
