Hearing this, Finn snatched the phone and glanced at the screen. A second later, he tossed it onto the coffee table with a look of pure disgust, a dangerous, mocking light flickering in his eyes.

"Are the two of you completely brain-dead, or do you just think I am?"

Finn looked down at her with predatory disdain. "Even if Elissa actually wants to go, do you really think Rowan and the Wilkinsons are idiots? You think they'll just let her waltz into a meeting alone?"

Finn had received word the moment Elissa stepped foot into Zephyr Manor today. But with Rowan maintaining an impenetrable wall of security around her, there was absolutely no opening for an attack.

It was painfully obvious that the Murphy family would remain on high alert for the foreseeable future.

This pathetic little scheme Maya and Marcia cooked up was entirely useless.

Maya's chest tightened in panic. "Then what am I supposed to do?"

She couldn't exactly sneak into Rivercross Residence, drug Elissa herself, and drag her out.

That would literally be throwing herself straight into the slaughterhouse.

"All I care about is that tomorrow is your absolute deadline," Finn said, the corner of his mouth curling up in a terrifyingly calm smile. "If you have what it takes, get her to show up alone. If you don't, enjoy rotting in a prison cell."

Without waiting for her to respond, he turned on his heel and walked out.

The guard stationed at the door smartly pulled it open, bowing his head. "Boss."

"Yeah," Finn muttered with a brief nod. He cast a sharp, warning glance over his shoulder. "Keep a tight watch. If she makes a move, report it to me immediately."

"Yes, Boss," the subordinate replied quickly, scrambling to open the car door for him. "Drive safe, Boss."

Finn didn't acknowledge him. He slid into the driver's seat, and the sleek, aggressive black McLaren roared to life, tearing off into the distance.

The phone he had tossed onto the passenger seat suddenly began to ring.

Finn grabbed it without letting off the gas. The moment he saw the caller ID, his sharp eyes turned somber, but when he answered, his tone was completely respectful. "Dad. I was just on my way to see you."

"No need," Sean Cross's voice echoed through the speakers, his emotions entirely unreadable. "Just make sure you remember one thing. The Consignment ships out the morning after next. Nothing can delay it."
