Gianna left decisively.

I heard she left the city.

She eloped with Luca.

But I no longer cared.

I decided to start taking care of myself and agreed to the doctor's conservative treatment plan.

I resigned from most of my positions in the company, handing them over to Charles.

On my first day off from work, I watched an old man playing chess, couldn't resist stepping in, and won.

I left, satisfied, with my spoils. I took two walnuts for my collection.

I must say, it felt pretty good.

On my second day off from work, I saw a couple dragging their daughter to donate blood for their son. The girl's face was pale and gaunt, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness.

The doctor checked her blood levels and advised against it, saying the child was too weak.

But they cursed the doctor, calling the hospital corrupt and accusing them of trying to cheat poor farmers out of their money.

The next thing they said shocked everyone present.

"Do you have a guarantee? If anything happens to this kid, it's not the hospital's fault, right? Save my son first."

Nathan came to pull me away.

"You're still in recovery, no need to get upset. Why are you watching this? Let's go back."

"There are really parents like this in the world?"
