Every scene, every actor, radiated pure professionalism. Even Ulysses—who didn’t have a large part—managed to make every one of his scenes count. Calliope had been a little worried he might not be up to the task, but to her surprise, he gave it his all. It was obvious he took the role seriously and had a solid grasp of the character.

After watching for a bit, Calliope found herself genuinely satisfied.

“His acting’s actually pretty impressive,” she remarked.

At some point, Julius Quillen ambled over and offered her an ice cream cone.

Calliope took it, flashing him a smile. “I’d say we’re doing pretty well overall. After all, everyone here was handpicked by our team.”

All the cast members had gone through extensive auditions. There had been many candidates, but the less professional ones were quickly weeded out. Only the best of the bunch were left, which explained the quality all around. So, Calliope really had no complaints about Ulysses’s performance.

“No doubt about it,” Julius agreed. “We did our homework for this production. All the actors are top-tier, chosen after a lot of scrutiny.”

He gave a confident nod. “I believe this show is destined to be a smash hit.”

“Oh really?” Calliope tilted her head with a sly grin. “Every show I create ends up being a hit. It’s just a matter of time, Julius!”

“That’s the Callie we know—talented and confident as ever.”

Julius noticed a stray leaf tangled in Calliope’s hair and reached out to gently remove it. He lingered for a moment, gazing at her with a fondness in his eyes. Something seemed to occur to him.

“So, where’s your husband?” he asked casually.

“Huh?” Calliope blinked, momentarily thrown.
