"Yes," Rowena nodded, her voice tight with suppressed emotion.

Having lost all patience with her, Patrick turned on his heel and walked away. Once the elders were gone, Rowena's legs gave out, and she slumped onto the floor.

Yulisa rushed forward. "Mrs. Lynn."

Rowena was covered in a cold sweat. She closed her eyes tightly. "That foolish boy! And Tanya..."

At the mention of Tanya's name, Rowena ground her teeth. To just up and run away with her—Darian hadn't just lost his mind; he had been completely brainwashed.
