A cold smirk touched Starla's lips. "Let her scream. She'll run out of breath eventually. She only wants to talk and beg for mercy now that she's suffering. It's pathetic. I told her to value her life."

Garret nodded. "Mr. Farley's men are still tearing the city apart looking for her. He clearly didn't buy the ashes stunt."

"Did the lab results come back?"

"They did. He still doesn't believe it."

Starla let out a dry laugh. "Why is she so damn important to him?"
