They had barely been on the road for five minutes.

Just as Starla resigned herself to the reality of being dragged back to Herbert, a deafening crash rocked the vehicle.

The car had slammed into something. The massive force of the impact threw her violently against her seat. She vaguely heard two more sickening crunches of metal, followed by muffled groans from Rudolf and Aldo in the front.

Her vision blurred dizzily. Before she could even stabilize herself, her car door was wrenched open! A strong hand grabbed her arm and practically yanked her out of the vehicle.

"Let g—"

"It's me," Seymour's deep, magnetic voice cut her off.

Still reeling from the crash, she looked up at him, opening her mouth to speak, but he didn't give her the chance. He shoved her unceremoniously into the back of a waiting SUV.

"Miss—! Stop, damn it!"

Aldo's furious shout echoed from the wrecked car. He hammered against his door, but the frame had crumpled, trapping him inside.

"Seymour?!"

As the man turned around, Aldo instantly recognized him as Amos's right-hand man from the Cyrus Sea. His face twisted in horror!

Before Rudolf could even process what the name 'Seymour' meant, the man had already peeled out, taking Starla with him.

Furious, Aldo shoved the deployed airbag out of his way.

"Who is Seymour?" Rudolf demanded, panic setting in as he realized Starla was gone. He scrambled for his phone to call Herbert.

"He's Amos's man! No, wait—right now, he works for Mr. Yelchin."

All the blood drained from Rudolf's face.

Fairfax's man? They had just escorted her out of the Hoggart estate, only to have her immediately snatched by their rival's forces?

The line connected. Herbert's icy voice answered, "Do you have her?"
