The day Sandy was accused of dereliction of duty, he took a knife and stabbed Lily, leaving her severely injured.

The reason behind his rage was horrifying: He found out that the owner of the lair I rented had an ambiguous relationship with Lily.

Before the fire broke out, Lily had been acting suspiciously near the lair, her movements quick and her expression guilty, far from the behavior of someone suffering a mental disease episode. Half an hour later, she appeared at the other end of the pack, heading straight to the rooftop of a very tall building. Without taking a moment to catch her breath, she quickly called Sandy.

A wolf pack journalist spread the word: "If Lily truly wanted to end it all, why go through all the effort to change locations? Why not just jump from the high-rise? It’s clear that she wanted attention—creating an elaborate alibi to exaggerate her peril."

"How could I have been so blind, falling for a man who repaid my help with betrayal?" she cursed, wiping tears from her face. "I tried to help him, I wanted to get him away from that high-born, controlling woman! But he stabbed me for no reason!"

I could feel the primal fury stirring inside me. It paced in my chest, restless and angry. It clawed at my ribs, desperate to break free, to tear her apart for what she had done.
