Chapter 1731: Planning their Defenses

Silence passed by the room, and it was only after a couple of seconds that someone finally spoke. This was Ansel.

"An upgrade...did er...so one of the buildings finally upgraded? Which one?" he asked, but what he hoped to hear, only he knew. The others were also tense, waiting for her answer.

It wasn’t that, right? No?

Althea looked awkward. "No, the territory. We’re upgrading to a Level 2 Town."

People’s faces went pale now that their fears were confirmed.

"What?"

"Seriously?!"

To be honest, everyone was in denial. "Didn’t the aborigines say it’s hard to upgrade?" Ansel asked. "What is this scam?"

Harold was pale, shaking his head. "This is not normal. What happened?"

"This could get dangerous for us, I’m afraid..." Mathilda mumbled, while Althea sighed.

Unlike most other territory Lords who’d be looking forward to upgrades, their side dreaded it.

Who told them their place was so attractive? Even if various territories were watching them, after what they did to two other Level 1 Towns, people were definitely guarded.

Althea and the rest of them thought it’d be a while before someone would try attacking them, just because they needed to be careful.

But if they were freshly upgraded...it would plant some hopeful things in people’s heads again.

And entering a new tier meant they were underdogs again, at least in terms of brute strength.

Unsurprisingly, another emergency meeting between the elders and other heads was called again. Some were a little excited, while some were just worried.

"The area will be expanded again," Althea said. "And we will be developing a lot of things. I doubt we’ll finish that by the time the mob arrives." It was better to focus on the fights during that time, anyway.

Hearing the upcoming upgrade mob, the room had mixed reactions.

They didn’t think it’d come so soon. The last one...was such a big headache.

Upgrade Mobs were troublesome, and there was always a very real chance of losses in those times.

While they loved to get stronger, most preferred to do it at their own pace and not when tens of thousands of monsters were trying to push through their walls.
