"MAOMAO!"
Gochi and the others gasped. Gochi patted her back but sadly the aroma of the barbecue had stuck on him. The rabbit’s cute nose scrunched and she buried her head in her husband’s shoulders, rubbing her face, as if to shoo away any smell, though it didn’t help at all!
Her stomach tumbled even more instead!
It got to the point that it was even difficult to breathe!
People’s hearts stopped when they saw her breathing laboriously, and some people outright panicked. A certain fox was one of them.
"Excuse us," Gochi said, apologizing to his team but having no mind to even look at them, before he disappeared from their sight.
Gochi sprinted very, very, quickly, sacrificing quite a bit of his HP, arriving in Alterra a bit later, a fraction of the time as usual.
The half-orc ran straight to the hospital, to the emergency room, which they knew was where the ultra-urgent cases were brought in.
It happened that Sheila was one of the nurses assigned there today. "What happened?" She asked as she guided Gochi and Maomao to one of the beds there.
There were a few citizens there, mostly injuries from beasts or something, though nothing too critical. These patients certainly had the time and the mind to look at the half-orcs in a mix of concern and curiosity.
It wasn’t often that the half-orcs were seen in the hospital or a clinic. They usually had a higher recovery rate and were just sturdier in general. A little injury usually wouldn’t be bothered with or would be left to potions.
Sheila looked at the bunny Half-Orc and saw that she was extremely pale and wan. Her face was scrunched so much that she was now showing signs of asphyxiation.
Before, she was just gasping, and her breathing was quicker than usual. Now, it really gazed like she was suffocating.
Gochi also saw this, realising that his wife’s situation had gotten worse since he arrived. Things happened so quickly that he hadn’t noticed, and seeing her like this made him panic, already near tears.
"Oh...Maomao...maomao..." he chanted, pleading. "Please! Help her!"
"Calm down, Gochi," Sheila ordered. "Your emotions wouldn’t help your wife stabilize."
"You’re a trained medic, too, remember?"
Many people might have forgotten, but Gochi was indeed being trained as a medic. He was specializing in half-orc physique, which was something the Alterran doctors didn’t have much reference to, so it was still under study. They were studying these things along with Gochi, and would then teach him some of the things to apply.
Gochi paused and gripped his palms, trying to calm himself down. Indeed. This was something the doctors taught him.
If he were panicking, then it’d just make it worse for Maomao. It was not easy. He could feel his heartbeat beating so fast and so loudly, and he was struggling to contain his heart.
