~Althea

I woke up confused, feeling sore across my whole body. The I remember what happened last night. I smiled. I turn over, ready to greet Landon, except he's not there.

The absence in the bed sent a shiver down my spine. Where could he be?

I say up, looking around. My clothes lay discarded on the floor, but I decided I wanted to put clean ones anyway. I felt exposed, as I got out of bed and hunted around the room for cleaner clothes. I may have been naked before Landon yesterday, but today is a new day, and I'm still shy

Having still not shown himself, I decide it's time to head downstairs to try find Landon. He's got to be somewhere around here. Maybe he had Pack business he needed to deal with.

So I stalk down stairs, listening out for any trance of him. Once I'm downstairs, I hear soft voices talking. Is Landon by the front door? Maybe he was collecting Cyrus's dead body. I shiver at the thought. I really want to see Cyrus before he is given to his family.

I turn the corner, to see Landon and another man at the door. Landon leans against the wall, his head in his hands. The other man stands tall, his arms held behind his back.

The man that stands I don't recognise. He's larger in build then Landon, which immediately makes me aware that he is an Alpha. His eyes a hard blue. He looks tough, and it's unnerving. Even his light brown hair is styled perfectly in line.

He looks at me as I walk over, and goes to move toward me, but Landon's hand reaches it and stops him. I don't move, unsure of what to do. Landon looks over at me, his eyes lined red. I frowned at him.

"Althea, this is Dallas," Landon says hoarsely. Dallas? It dawns on me who is standing through there. Alpha Dallas...Another feared Alpha within the community.

He nods at me. "Of the Discipline Pack."

I know. I should have guessed as soon as I lay my eyes on him. He runs a Pack of order and control. Everyone in his Pack is trained to be the best fighters, while at the same time following military like orders. And Dallas is the leader of them.

Although my Pack is known for brutal strength and ability to fight, we don't understand discipline like his Pack members do. He is the police of this world.

"Why are you here?" I find myself saying. I don't know why, but it came out rudely. He is here for a reason. Why else would he be here? He should be within his own Pack, ensuring everything is going how it should be. Instead, he's here.

Landon looked grave. That's how I knew he has gotten bad news.

"We heard about what has happened...With the boy," he said solemnly. I blinked. He knew? He had to mean Kace, who had toppled down he hill by his own means.

I glanced at Dallas. "Kace, you mean?"

He frowned. Landon shook his head at me, his eyes widening. What? What did miss....

"Kace who? I meant Cyrus, the boy found dead on this Alphas property," Dallas said. I glanced at Landon, who was looking down at his feet. He was getting blamed for the death.

"He didn't kill him...Kace did!" I insist. Dallas still looks confused. Does he not understand what I'm saying? I'm telling him who murdered Cyrus, and he is looking like I just admitted I've seen aliens in my life time.

"Who is Kace?" He questions.

"He's from the Vengeance Pack...He killed Cyrus, not Landon," I insist. Dallas doesn't look convinced, and my heart begins to sink. Why isn't he listening?

Landon still doesn't look up, knowing the weight of the situation. Dallas says, "Well, Alpha Kaden said he witnessed the killing. We need to take him into questioning before we can extend our investigation."

I stare at the Alpha in disbelief. What about Landon's Pack? What would the do if they found out their Alpha is being taken to trial for the murder of one of their fellow Pack mates. There would be anarchy.
