The satellite phone with the golden wolf emblem slipped from his tailored suit jacket. As I bent to pick it up, the screen lit up with an encrypted message.

"Alpha, thank you for intervening tonight to settle the dispute between the three packs! However, I cannot accept the Sicilian territory you promised me—it's far too valuable!"

It was followed by Selene's private status update: "Only a true queen Luna deserves to wear the crown."

The image showed an ancient ruby-encrusted ring, said to be the symbol of the oldest Sicilian Pack, representing supreme power in the supernatural world.

I knew Selene intentionally wanted me to see this.

Last week, Dominic had been severely wounded in a pack skirmish, a bullet piercing his chest.

But as soon as he could stand, he flew overseas. I was worried and angry at how he was risking his life for the pack's honor.

In reality, he'd gone to participate in the Pack Inheritance Ceremony.

Even with a gunshot wound, he fought to claim that ring symbolizing supreme power, only to offer it to his moon-blessed priestess.

I impulsively entered his private password.

As the last digit fell, the screen lit up.

Selene's birthday.

Dominic never let me touch his private phone, claiming it was for respecting him as an Alpha.

Once unlocked, Selene's smiling face in an elegant ritual gown filled the screen.

No wonder his eyes always softened when he turned on his phone.

Opening the folders, I found albums all named after her.

Through tear-blurred eyes, I remembered that day.

At my father's funeral, he stood in formal mourning attire and swore to me:

"Elena, I swear on the Alpha's honor to give you a home. Everything I have is yours."

I placed Dominic on the bed without removing his shoes and socks as I usually would.

I went straight to the guest room.
