Her words stung. It was true, wasn't it? He'd had virgins before but never stayed with one.

I flashed a fake smile. "Thank you, Cherry. I better get on stage."

She kissed my cheek. "Anytime Scrumptious."

I didn't have time to sit a moment longer. No time to ponder on how Hayden would destroy me after taking my virginity. In my head, I forced my thoughts to shift. Touring Europe after college would be ideal. I focused on what that would be like. I danced for two hours in a zone. I exhaled when it was time for a break. I needed to hold back my tears long enough to get through my shift.

I cleaned my eyelids applying a new shade of eye shadow. After wrapping my long blonde hair into a stocking cap, I slipped on a long black wig. The bright lights around the mirror revealed the true ugliness across my face, which was also how I felt on the inside.

On the floor, under the dim lights, customers couldn't see the sadness in my eyes. My eyes shot over to my left. There was Hayden watching. I collected my money off the floor, then sashayed my way into his lap.

He held my waist, I leaned back. Dancing to the beat, I shook my yellow bikini in his face. Rising to my feet, I undressed before him. "Hayden, I can't dance for you if you're not throwing money."

He reached inside his blazer pocket, retrieving ten thousand dollars. Hayden sat the money on the table, accompanied by a smile. I didn't blink. Turning away from him, I gripped his thighs, rubbing my ass against his dick.

"Let's go to the private room, Scrumptious."

I placed his hands on my ass as I grabbed his head, rolling my hips in his face. Hayden smirked. His eyes met mine, then his smile dropped. "Lydia, what's wrong?"

"Nothing. Daddy. Just doing my job. Please don't call me by my real name while I'm at work." I shook my ass until I was facing away from him.

He turned me to face him. "Talk to me."

I could feel the tears burning the back of my eyes.

"You know what, I have a party coming in a few minutes. I have to go, Hayden."

I picked up my clothes, then began walking away before the tears flowed. Hayden grabbed me by my waist, pulling me back against him. "Here." He placed the money in my hand.

Slowly, I walked toward the dressing room. I smiled at my boss in passing. I didn't want him to suspect anything.

"Lorene, hold this please."

"Sure, thing, baby."

She always held my money. I paid her a nice tip. As long as at the end of the night, I had all my money.

When I returned to the floor, I noticed Hayden was gone. After working for one more hour, I got off work early. I couldn't go home. I was sure Hayden would show up there. I exited the boss's entrance in the back of the building, and walked to the next street over. My Uber was just pulling up. Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at my father's house.

LYDIA

"Dad, it's me," I called out as I walked over the threshold.

Good thing I had a key.

"Lydia."

"Yes, go back to sleep. I'm spending the night. I need to wash clothes early in the morning."

"Alright. See you in the morning."

My phone was on silent. Hayden kept calling. He didn't understand what he did wrong. I wasn't sure I was going about things the right way.

I wanted Hayden to go home and get some rest.

I sent him a text message.

After slipping into a pair of tight jogging pants and a small t-shirt that's been in my closet for years, I washed the clothes I'd worn to my fathers. I refused to turn on my phone right away. I needed to tell the club bouncers to keep Hayden away from me.

"Good afternoon, Dad," I chimed, kissing his cheek.

"Lydia, you haven't slept over in a long time. What's going on?"

He walked over to the window, gawking down the street like he'd always done. "Where is your car?"

"At home."

I walked toward the kitchen. "Dad, I'll make us breakfast."

His eyebrows wrinkled as he limped toward me. "Lydia, tell me what is going on?"

I sighed. "I fell in love with a man. Now it's over."

"Is he after you?"

"No, he just doesn't understand why we can't work."

"What did he do?"

"Dad, it's complicated."

"Lydia, it's ok to say you don't want to be with him. I heard you crying last night. Sounds like he meant a lot to you."

"I'm in the mood for grits, turkey bacon, eggs over easy, and wheat toast."
