Caden nodded yes. "You know how to preserve the site. Sit on it. Do you have anyone you can trust to sit on it with you?"
"Good. We will be in touch soon."
I stepped off in the other direction, removing the plastic roll from the van. I pulled my leather gloves, snug. I've never murdered anyone until today. He doesn't deserve to live. Fuck, going to jail and paying for his crimes. He murdered two children. Ruined their parents lives. What would have happened if we didn't take matters into our own hands today. Would he have possibly retaliated against Lydia? I couldn't take any chances.
I lined the cement floor with plastic then snipped the zip ties setting Bobby free. Slowly he stood. Head down he charged toward me. Grabbing his neck in a choke hold, I swiveled behind, choking him. I slammed his body to the ground dug my knee into his chest. His good hand was pinned down under my leg, while my hands squeezed the life out of his worthless body. I strangled him until the blood vessels appeared in his eyes from lack of oxygen, until he was no longer breathing. I fell back, trying to catch my own breath. I was in shock.
"Hayden! Hayden!" Sebastian snapped his fingers in front of my eyes.
I glanced up at him. "Hayden, let's get moving."
Sebastian and I stuffed Bobby into a black suitcase. We cleaned up the warehouse leaving not a trace of evidence. The chair and zip ties were thrown into the back of the van. We drove for thirty minutes, arriving at a crematorium.
"Sebastian, how do you know about this place?"
"My friends, and now family, Hunter and Skyler. You will meet them one day soon. You handled yourself well tonight. We fight crime like this often. We would be happy to bring you into the fold. We are given our own missions from a special branch of the government who reports directly to the President of the United States of America. Hunter and Skyler now have to do a mission because we took matters into our own hands. Crematoriums like this one are only used for government contracts. I will complete the mission with them on your behalf."
"Sebastian, no I will complete the mission. You taught me everything I know. I am ready."
"Good, I will let them know. Bring Lydia with you to the barbeque in June."
My eyebrows scrounged together. "Why?"
"Remember Sydney wants you to meet her and her cousin Samantha?"
"Yeah, sure."
"While you are there I will introduce you to Hunter and Skyler."
"Great. Thank you for everything Sebastian."
"Hey, what are families for!" he smiled.
LYDIA
I had trouble sleeping that night. I fell asleep, waking around 3 a.m. I was sitting on the couch in the living room watching TV when Hayden walked in. My heart plummeted to the floor. His dazed eyes saw me but looked right through me. He was wearing all black, t-shirt, jeans, and boots. He never stopped to kiss me or even acknowledge me. I sensed something was extremely wrong. I peeked into the bathroom. He was brushing his teeth. Sitting on the floor outside the open door, I waited for him to walk back into the bedroom. I heard the shower turn on. I peeked around the corner again. His back was to me. Steam filled the room quick. Hurriedly I undressed, climbing into the shower with him. He didn't flinch upon my entrance. The water beaded down his muscular tanned back. My fingertips ran along the creases of his muscles.
"Hayden, baby what's the matter?"
His body quaked at the sound of my voice. The tiny hairs stood on my arms. I was afraid of what his answer would be. Where was he?
I pulled back. "Why do you say that?"
"One day, I will tell you everything. I promise."
He held me snug in his arms.
"Hayden, can we move forward with our relationship and accept that I'm a stripper. You knew what you were getting when you met me."
"It's destroying me Lydia. I need you to stop."
I shoved him. "I don't fucking know you well enough to quit my job!"
"Says the woman standing butt ass naked in my shower!"
"Fuck you Hayden!"
"We don't have to worry about that. Your shit is held under lock and key!"
My mouth dropped open. Quickly, I turned on my heels, exiting the shower. I snatched a towel off the tan rack, walking into the closet. Hayden didn't come after me. I didn't give a shit that it was about 4 a.m. I hopped into my clothes, gathered my bags, and stormed out of the condo.
