She walked directly to Julian, not even glancing at Adrian.

"Let's go."

Julian didn't ask any questions. He opened the car door and shielded her as she got in.

Catherine hurried over. "Don't be so rough with Miss Ashford!"

"Isabel Ashford?" Adrian's brow furrowed. "She is Isabel Hayes."

He was certain. The feeling only intensified when he touched her.

Catherine signaled to her men, who managed to separate Adrian and Isabel.

She apologized to Isabel. "I was wrong to do this. I will come to your home to make a formal apology. Please, Miss Ashford, go home and rest."

Isabel offered a small smile but said nothing.

After they left, Catherine turned to Adrian. "Stop this, Adrian. You will come with me to apologize, and then we are returning home."

They would likely be barred from entering the Fiorhaven Principality in the future.

Even if they could, any action they took would be constrained by the Durantin family.

They would have to relocate this laboratory.

"She is Isabel Hayes."

Catherine handed Adrian the test results. "Adrian, this isn't Westbridge. You know my position. We cannot act forcefully here."

Adrian stared at the report, his disbelief palpable for the first time. "Your machine must be faulty."

Catherine was growing annoyed. "That's impossible. I didn't just compare her DNA to Isabel's; I also ran a test against the Ashford couple. It confirmed their parentage. I just didn't inform her of that."
