Isabel was about to say something to the police when she was interrupted by a female voice.

"Why are you lying on the floor? Get up, quickly." Selena rushed over to embrace him.

It was cold in Westbridge, so she had worn a coat on the plane. She'd been in such a hurry to get here that she hadn't had time to take it off.

She took it off now, folding it to place behind Oliver's back.

"If there's anything you want, just tell me. I’ll help you. Be good, stop crying now, or your throat will hurt."

Isabel only saw Selena.

How strange.

Adrian was actually not by Selena's side.

But that was none of her business.

"Auntie Selena, I want my mom, but she won't talk to me, sob."

Selena's eyes darkened for a second.

Oliver had been calling her 'Mommy' for some time now. Even though she always insisted he shouldn't, he persisted.

But now...

She suppressed her feelings and gently wiped his tears, then looked at a police officer. "Excuse me, could I trouble you for a cup of warm water? The child's voice is completely hoarse from crying."

The officer immediately went to get some warm water, at the perfect temperature for drinking.

"Thank you."

Selena took it and helped Oliver drink.

"Don't worry, Oliver. I’ll ask what's going on."

Julian just curled his lips into a lazy, charming smile. "Well, since we're already here, let's just wait for the results before we say anything."

"..."

Selena then turned her gaze to Isabel. She gasped in feigned surprise, covering her mouth as if in disbelief. "The resemblance is truly striking. I almost got them mixed up myself. Luckily, Isabel and I were friends for years, so I know her better than anyone."

Isabel didn't even bother to look at her.

Selena, however, was a natural at this performance. "Oliver, she isn't your mommy. I know your mommy best. She loves you so much, she would never just stand by and say nothing while you're throwing a tantrum on the floor."

"I know you miss your mommy. How about this? You come back with me, and I'll take you to visit your mommy. We can bring her some food, maybe lay some flowers on her grave."

Oliver shoved Selena away. "You're lying! She is my mommy! I would never mistake my own mommy."

Selena sighed softly, looking helpless. "Oliver, didn't you always want me to be your mommy? Come back to Westbridge with me. Your father and I are preparing for our wedding."
