After getting acquainted, they all sat down.

As they chatted, the conversation turned to Isabel and Adrian's marriage.

Evelyn told Amanda about Adrian's recent shenanigans.

Amanda, in turn, shared some of the things that had happened back home.

In the end, the two raised their glasses, feeling like they had found a kindred spirit and a common enemy.

"Down with scumbags."

Then, they both looked at Isabel. "If you ever get back together with Adrian, we're no longer friends."

"That won't happen," Isabel said firmly. "I will absolutely never get back together with him."

Evelyn and Amanda were relieved.

Evelyn said, "The divorce is the tricky part now."

Amanda countered, "She's Isabel Ashford now, anyway. It doesn't matter whether Adrian dissolves the marriage or not."

"How can it not matter?" Evelyn grew agitated. "Isabel just changed her identity and name, but she's still Isabel. The thought of her still being married to Adrian makes me sick."

Amanda was also surprised.

Not only had Adrian not divorced her, but he hadn't even filed a death certificate.

"No wonder they wouldn't let me file a death certificate. They said her legal husband had to do it. At the time, I thought Adrian was just pressuring them on purpose."

Before Andrew could speak, Julian came over with the car keys. "Perfect. I'll take you to see the house."

"What house?" Isabel asked.

Julian said, "The house Andrew bought. He knew your friend Amanda was coming, so he specifically asked me to find one."

Isabel never doubted Andrew's love for Amanda. She saw them to the door.

Julian had been drinking, so he handed the car keys to one of his men.

"You get the kid to bed. I have some business to take care of."
