Oliver didn't know that Isabel couldn't see the posts he made.

Leo saw it after his bath, but he didn't tell Isabel. His mom had told him that Oliver wasn't nice to his auntie Isabel, and there was no need to mention anything about the Blackwell father and son to her.

After some thought, he deleted Oliver as a contact.

"Auntie Isabel, I want you to tell me a story."

"Of course."

Isabel straightened the blankets, letting him and Edmund lie down comfortably as she sat on the edge of the bed and told them a story.

Once they were asleep, she stretched her neck, turned off the light, and left the bedroom.

Martha was passing by on her way to her own room and saw her. "Let me give you a neck massage," she offered.

Isabel waved her hand. "It's okay, I'll be fine after a little stretch."

Martha insisted, "You spend every day hunched over your experiments. you really need to be more careful."

"I will. You get some rest."

Isabel went downstairs for a glass of water just as Julian walked in, cloaked in the night.

"All settled?" she asked.

Julian walked over. "Pour me a glass of water."

Isabel poured him one. "Do you need honey?"

He had been drinking.

"It's not that serious." Julian took the glass, finished it, and set it on the counter. "The Ashford family said the wedding preparations are almost done. I came to ask you about your plans moving forward."

Isabel asked, "Is this wedding just for Old Mr. Reed's benefit? Will he believe we're married and pass on his techniques to me?"

Julian replied, "I already told you, I'll handle it."

Isabel's expression shifted slightly. "You're not going to use fake documents, are you?"

"I wouldn't." Julian glanced at her. "I'm not your scumbag ex-husband. Your Isabel Ashford identity is real. We'll just have a frank conversation with the old man. He'll understand. As long as you're officially a daughter-in-law of the Reed family, it'll be fine."

Isabel said, "Maybe we should wait? Once I've developed the new drug and taken Selena down, I can divorce Adrian, and then I can marry you using my real identity."

Isabel smiled; it didn't matter to her.

When they arrived at the registry office, Amanda couldn't help but sigh. "I wish this were a real wedding. Mr. Reed seems like a good guy. He gives off an unreliable vibe, but he's actually very thoughtful."

Isabel replied, "You've only met him once, and you already have such a high opinion."

Amanda said, "I'm a good judge of character."

Isabel couldn't argue with that.

Her husband was indeed a very good person.

Back then, Amanda had advised her not to give up her career for marriage, even if the man was wealthy. She always said a woman needed her own career.

It was clear that Amanda had a much clearer perspective on life than she did.

But Isabel didn't have any regrets.

You bear the consequences of your own choices.

"I let Evelyn know. Why did she suddenly go back? I was planning on going shopping with her."
