It was old Mr. Foster who noticed and gave him some cookies.
"She might not have time for dinner with you. You should take the child to eat first. It's not good for a little kid to go hungry, especially since he just got out of the hospital."
Adrian paused for a moment, then picked up the phone next to him.
But Isabel didn't answer from inside, so the call wouldn't connect.
old Mr. Foster grew annoyed. "My only other option is to have you removed."
"Open the door," he said.
Old Mr. Foster ignored him and was about to call security when Isabel opened the door and came out.
Adrian stepped forward and pulled her toward him.
His sharp gaze swept over the male researcher who followed her out.
The male researcher met his gaze without flinching and spat on the ground.
Adrian's expression darkened further.
Isabel pulled her hand away and spoke to old Mr. Foster. "From now on, Felix will be working with me."
Old Mr. Foster was confused.
Hadn't she said she wouldn't be staying in Westbridge for long?
What did she mean by this?
But he didn't ask. "Keep him if you want. He was probably just nervous meeting you today. He'll get used to it. He's better than that rascal of mine."
"Don't say that, sir. Dylan is very talented too. We worked together perfectly. If he gets out, please let him know that if he's willing to collaborate, I'd still like to work with him."
Adrian interjected, "Dylan is not an option. His feelings for you aren't professional."
Isabel ignored him and said to Felix, "Let's have dinner together and get to know each other."
"By the way," she asked, "do you have any family commitments or ties?"
