“Is Great-Grandma not happy?” Oliver hadn’t been back in a while.

He had been orbiting Isabel recently, especially during the three months Edmund was there. He was constantly afraid that if he missed a single day, his mother wouldn't even let him eat with her.

“Great-Grandma is happy, but she’ll be even happier to see you.”

Oliver nodded eagerly. “I’ll listen to you, Mom.”

They got out of the car, and Oliver, holding onto the hem of Isabel’s clothes, walked inside with her.

The Blackwells were all there, including Catherine Blackwell’s husband and son.

Adrian hadn’t arrived yet.

“Isabel, come, sit down quickly,” old Mrs. Blackwell said as soon as she saw her, patting the seat next to her.

Oliver scampered over. “Great-Grandma, look, I have muscles now!”

He flexed his arm. “Squeeze it, it’s hard as a rock.”

Old Mrs. Blackwell knew that Oliver had been training with old Mr. Foster.

She had received photos.

But seeing him in person, she was surprised to see how well-developed his muscles actually were.

“Our Oliver is so amazing! From now on, Great-Grandma won’t be afraid of anything. Our Oliver is strong enough to beat up all the bad guys.”

Oliver nodded enthusiastically. “From now on, I’ll protect Great-Grandma. If anyone makes you unhappy, I’ll be the first one to have a problem with it.”

“Good, good, Grandma’s sweet boy. I didn’t dote on you for nothing.”

She then asked Isabel how she had been.

Isabel accepted a cup of tea from Susan and took a sip, but before she could speak, Mrs. Blackwell snorted.
