But he refused to loosen his grip.

She tried pushing gently against his chest. At first, he felt like a brick wall, but when she nudged him again, he finally stepped back.

As she pulled away and looked up at his face, her breath caught.

"Why... why are you crying?"

Tears were streaming down Beasley's face. He knew they were tears of sheer, miraculous salvation.
