Bride For Rent novel Chapter 35

Raymond carried her out of the room and the rest followed him. Felicity was still sobbing in his arms and calling out to her parents softly. They got to the car and Mercy joined him while Hana and Desmond got into their own car with their driver.

Katherine was called on the way to the hospital and they all met there. Raymond's doctor rushed to attend to Felicity immediately while the family members waited in the hall.

Raymond signaled Katherine out to talk with her, "what is it?" She asked.

"I think she is really affected."

"Why do you say so?"

Raymond sighed "she was crying really bad and calling out to her parents when I found her."

"Oh my God, it's the blood" she covered her mouth as her eyes teared up "we shouldn't have..."

"I know, I'm regretting it now. I filled in Henry on our way here, so he is examining her for real now."

"Oh God" Katherine exclaimed "she was really affected during the accident. She hasn't even fully recovered."

"She will be fine" he tried to comfort her.

"She didn't speak for six months after the accident. Seeing her parents in that pool of blood, God, what have I done?"

"Katherine calm down, she will be fine. You will see."

Katherine looked at him, even though he was acting tough, she could see the worry in his eyes. She doesn't know why, but she relaxed at his voice. Maybe it was because he cared for her? She can't tell.

They rejoined the others later just when doctor Henry came to meet them, they all swarmed around him "how is she?" Hana asked for all of them.

"She is fine only that" he shook his head slowly "I'm sorry but, she lost the baby."

"What?" Hana was the first to react "what was I expecting, with all those blood" she hugged Desmond and wept in his arms. Desmond tried to calm her down.

"The fall caused a big impact on her stomach which forced the baby out. I'm truly sorry" he looked at Raymond and signaled him out. Katherine followed them "she will be fine. What could have affected her so much?"

"She watched her parents die. She saw them in their own pool of blood. It was a ghastly car accident" Katherine answered.

Felicity said nothing but looked at the ceiling, tears strolled down from the corners of her eyes. Katherine dabbed them away and offered to prepare her favorite food for her as breakfast but she said nothing.

When the food was brought, she didn't eat much. Katherine tried to coerce her to eat more but she only curled herself on the bed and said nothing.

Fear was building in Katherine's heart but she didn't want to believe it. Both she and Mercy tried to get her to talk but she said nothing. She only let out "mom" once in a while.

When Raymond came back in the evening and saw the situation at hand, he also tried to make her talk but no progress. Even her eyes that always lit up at the sight of him was dull and soulless when they met his.

He was feeling nervous inside that his stupid idea may have taken the once cheerful and happy Felicity back to the day she lost her parents and he doubts if he would ever forgive himself should that be the case.

Hana visited too along with Desmond, when they saw Felicity so quiet, their hearts went out to her. Hana tried to cheer up "don't worry my darling, you will get pregnant again okay. You don't have to be like this, now, grandma will buy you ice cream when you get back home okay" she smiled but unlike the usual times, she didn't receive the smile back.

She dabbed at her tears while Desmond squeezed her shoulder, she patted his hand and smiled to him to tell him that she is alright. They only have to worry about Felicity now.

Raymond on the other hand didn't know what to do, he called the doctor to examine her but after everything, Henry still told him that she was okay. That she just didn't want to speak.

Felicity was discharged the next day but rather than play around the house as always, she went up to her room and laid down. Her quietness was driving Raymond insane and only then did he realize how much he likes her cheerfulness and her childish actions. Right now, he will take anything she gives him, as long as it gets her to talk.
