“Dad!”

As she pushed open the study door, she saw Hanley scowling, his gaze fixed on the desk.

Gennifer strode over.

“This man, you’re sure about him?”

He held a pen between two fingers, tapping its tip sharply on an ID card.

Gennifer narrowed her eyes. It was the same one Hanley had asked her to identify not long ago.

“Victor. Dad, I’m absolutely certain. It was him and Ruby who turned me into a laughingstock!”

Gennifer leaned over, her eyes burning with a fierce fire.

She hadn’t forgotten that humiliation, and she would make them pay for it tenfold.

Hanley’s tense shoulders relaxed, and a gloomy aura settled around him.

He suddenly erupted, slamming his hand on the desk with a loud bang.

Gennifer jumped, startled. Hanley’s face was buried in his hands, his messy hair hiding his dark expression.

“It was this Victor who snuck into my factory and took the Domingo family!”

“What?!”

Gennifer was aghast, her eyes glued to Victor’s photo.

“Dad, you have no history with Victor. Why would he… Ruby!”

Gennifer was initially baffled, but then a face flashed in her mind, and she instantly grasped the fleeting thought.

“It has to be Ruby! She sent Victor to do this!” Gennifer seethed, grinding her teeth.

Hanley had already guessed as much. He let out a cold snort, his eyes glinting with a frosty light as he looked up.

“The Steele family is still in Quinborough, so we can’t completely burn our bridges with Ruby just yet. I deliberately waited until dawn and went to Southgarde Estate to check on the situation, but I didn’t find any suspicious clues.”

Hanley rubbed his temples in frustration.

Gennifer frowned, deep in thought. “That doesn’t make sense. If what you’re saying is true, she took them that night. Besides Southgarde Estate, where else could she have placed the Domingos overnight?”

The more Hanley thought about it, the more frustrated he became. He swept everything off his desk in a fit of rage. “How should I know! All I know is that my visit was sudden, but I didn’t see any sign of them. And those people at the factory are useless! They don’t even do basic checks!”

His tone was violent, but he still managed to briefly describe the people and the scene he had witnessed at the Grayson estate.

Gennifer shrank back, intimidated by Hanley’s outburst, a hint of fear in her eyes.
