"Quite urgent. I might need to pick it up this evening."

Ruby continued her conversation as if nothing had happened.

"Hmm... that is a bit of a rush, but I happen to be free this afternoon. I can give it a try."

Garrison chuckled, his tone indulgent.

Ruby thanked him, hung up the phone with a satisfied smile, and prepared to leave.

She had only taken a few steps when a hand clamped down on her shoulder.

Feeling the pressure, Ruby turned with a frown and, as expected, was met with a twisted, furious face.

Ruby smiled, her expression one of pure innocence. "Excuse me, miss? What are you talking about? Playing you? I'm afraid I don't understand."

Her smile only infuriated the woman more.
