She’d heard that Sebastian was now the one refusing to divorce.

“Grandma, this is between my wife and me,” he said, his tone heavy.

Mrs. Griffith Sr. frowned back, unable to understand him. He used to despise Natalie, so why was he holding on now? “But you don’t love her. I’ve heard that young man from the Monroe family has taken an interest in Natalie, and he seems like a decent person. You should let Natalie go find her own happiness. “Ms. Scott, if you want to marry into the Griffith family, that old woman is your biggest obstacle.”

The housekeeper spoke in hushed tones, glancing around nervously.

Joanna was furious. That old hag. She was the one standing in her way.

“Keep an eye on Sebastian and Natalie for me. Don’t let them sleep in the same room. I’ll arrange that job for your son when I get back.”

The housekeeper’s face lit up, but then she hesitated. “Ms. Scott, they’re husband and wife. It’s normal for them to share a room, I don’t have a reason to stop them. But I know Mr. Griffith loves you, so I doubt he’ll stay with Natalie.”

Joanna sneered, “Just watch them. I wouldn’t put it past that shameless Natalie to try and seduce him.”
