“Colin, do you know who your father’s mistress is?”
Wendy’s voice rose to a furious shout. Looking at her foolish son, she felt a desperate need to stop him from getting himself killed.
She had sent the eldest away to protect him.
The second one was a complete idiot.
Colin was even more foolish, and his heart was more venomous.
But he had always been his grandmother's favorite because he was a smooth talker.
She had to give him one chance, just one chance to save him.
“Mom, you must be joking. Natalie set Dad up, so who could his mistress possibly be?”
Colin felt his mother had gone mad. That woman, Natalie, was a jinx, bringing nothing but turmoil to their family.
Wendy froze, then let out a bitter laugh at his stubbornness. “Colin, I was naive to overestimate your intelligence. You’re right, I am joking. I’ve only just realized that Nathan’s children are simply born evil. Get out!”
Wendy’s anger erupted. A bad person never sees themselves as bad. She had been foolish to think otherwise.
“Mom…”
Wendy picked up her phone and called her assistant.
“Lindsay, post what I told you earlier on the official website. I, Wendy, am severing ties with all four of my sons.”
Nathan disgusted her. She wanted nothing to do with these four sons.
Colin choked, shouting in anguish, “Mom, do you have to do this?”
Wendy nodded. “Yes! You people from the Scott family are all vampires. I wanted to save your life, but you don’t need it.”
Wendy knew he wouldn't tell them. He was afraid of upsetting Joanna.
The four brothers who had doted on Joanna since childhood would always treat her best.
A few gentle words from Joanna, without her lifting a finger, were enough to win them over completely.
It proved that some people are truly evil. They find all sorts of reasons and excuses for their actions to rationalize their sins and escape moral condemnation. They become masters of self-deception and self-justification.
Wendy’s heart ached too much. She needed help, but besides her two secretaries, she had no one she could trust.
She turned and left, leaving Colin standing there, stunned and disbelieving. His mother was really disowning him.
Still, he ran out and stopped Lindsay from posting the announcement.
He looked at the slightly stout Lindsay and threatened her, “Lindsay, if you dare to post that, I’ll jump off the roof.”
