Wendy smiled elegantly, her eyes full of mirth. “Yeri, let’s not play hard to get this time. Go make them your best coffee. We’re selling the company.”

Yeri smiled and bowed her head. “Yes, ma’am.”

As she left, Lindsay said, “Let’s go see what kind of offer they have for the company.”

But Wendy already knew. The buyer was only interested because they had already poached some of her investors and partners. But would they really get what they wanted?

Wendy’s smile turned wicked. After today, it was time to go home and deal with her own demons.

Natalie didn't go to the office; she drove straight home.

As she approached the gate, she saw Sebastian waiting for her.

His tall figure stood in the blizzard, straight and unyielding like a proud tree, aloof and solitary.

Natalie found it almost funny. Ever since Joanna returned, she saw him maybe two or three times a month. Now, she was running into him two or three times a day.

Natalie stopped the car and asked, “Mr. Griffith, can I help you?”

She was surprised he had the patience to wait for her here.

In the past, she was always the one waiting for Sebastian.

This had to be the first time he had ever waited for her.

Seeing she was back, Sebastian brushed the snowflakes from his coat and glanced at her injured arm. “You’re hurt. Why are you driving?”

Natalie froze for a second. Was Sebastian actually concerned about her?

“So, get as far away from me as you can, and stop bothering me.”

“When you two were doing those disgusting things… you even had the nerve to send me pictures of you in bed together to torment me. Sebastian, you are the most despicable man in the world. I feel sick that I ever loved you.”

“Natalie!” Sebastian roared, his voice trembling with fury. “Say that again, I dare you.”

He gritted his teeth, his anger palpable and frightening.

Natalie flinched, startled by his outburst. A vulnerable look crossed her face. She didn't know why she was suddenly so emotional. Was it his unexpected concern, or something else?

She wasn't sure. All she knew was that the moment he’d shown a hint of care, it had triggered something in her, and the words had just poured out.

But right now, the sense of injustice was overwhelming. It wasn't his fault he didn't love her, but why did he have to humiliate her? Why did he have to trample all over her dignity?
