Sebastian smiled faintly at her retreating back. Sebastian watched her go, a faint smile on his lips. The walls between them were finally coming down..
He looked down at the bowl in his hand and smiled as he cleared the dishes.
Washing dishes wasn't difficult for Sebastian.
Ten minutes later, all the dishes were washed, and the countertop was wiped clean.
He glanced around the kitchen, pleased with the result.
He didn't like strangers in his house; even his friends rarely entered his personal space. But a home with Natalie in it made him happy.
Sebastian dried his hands and was about to head upstairs to find Natalie.
Just as he reached the bottom of the stairs, his phone rang.
His deep-set eyes glanced at the caller ID—it was his deadbeat father.
A sarcastic smile touched his lips. It seemed his father couldn't wait any longer either.
He'd been holding back for a while, but now, he couldn't contain himself.
In his eyes, the illegitimate son was always more important.
"Hello," he said, his voice cold and devoid of any emotion.
"Sebastian, Joanna is the woman you love most. She's in the hospital. Why aren't you there with her?"
Timothy asked sharply.
Sebastian's tone was even. "If you're so concerned, you can go take care of her yourself. Even if she saved me back then, I’ve done more than enough to make up for what she did for me back then. I'm not interested in her anymore."
"Sebastian, what's that supposed to mean? How can you be so ungrateful? Joanna saved your life! How could you say something so outrageous? Get your ass to the hospital and take care of Joanna," Timothy's voice grew louder, laced with a command.
Sebastian held the phone slightly away from his ear. He waited for his father to finish before bringing it back.
His tone was calm and unhurried. "Joanna just got an abortion. It was Robert’s kid, by the way. You should probably talk to Robert. After all, those two are in love."
"What...?"
A dark, satisfied smirk played on Sebastian’s lips as he cut the call.
He couldn't just let them walk all over him and play him for a fool forever. It was time for them to turn on each other.
