Summary of Chapter 29 – A pivotal chapter in Can't Get Near The Alpha King by Oliver Frank
The chapter Chapter 29 is one of the most intense moments in Can't Get Near The Alpha King, written by Oliver Frank. With signature elements of the Internet genre, this part of the story reveals deep conflicts, shocking revelations, and decisive character changes. A must-read for anyone following the narrative.
"Okay so those ten can be the scouters, we need good legs for that journey. The warriors in the buses should be a mix; some of the best but not all as we still need to be prepared here." I advise Ella and she nods, her eyes glazing over - telling the rest of us that she is mindlinking others.
"I've just notified 35 warriors, 15 women and 20 men. They all know what they are doing, no extra information and aren't going to ask or say anything." Ella says and I nod thankfully.
I then turn my attention to Blake and James who both seem deep in thought, James then says, " We must have someone betraying us or they are getting past our border control for these photos to be taken."
Blake hums in approval, agreeing with this theory.
"We should contact Anna and ask her to put up the boarder shield; we haven't tested it out yet so might as well try now." Blake suggests and I nod, also thinking of that.
"Okay, once all of this is over, I promise I will be more involved in the pack - just so much is going on. I feel like I haven't seen you guys like I used to, but right now both of you go and pretend like this never happened. We can't have the outsiders suspecting anything, or the pack - I will inform them again if anything happens. I'll also set curfew or the law about not going into the woods alone."
With that, we all leave the secret room and go back into the office, walk out and chat generally like nothing ever happened.
Our eyes always darting to the surroundings, not knowing what could be hidden in those woods.
adella pov -
Our day goes by extremely quickly as our minds are focused on important matters; mine sorting decisions for the pack while Ashton is targeting his attention on his.
Soon enough it's 4pm and I start to prep dinner, needing a bit of time to myself, after the busy day of making sure all the houses were on track - the builders knew what to built as we have house descriptions.
For example, a 'standard house' consists of four bedrooms, one bunker, open living kitchen area, three bathrooms, a snug etc. So whatever I ask the construction men for they will already have plans and prep for, no need for delay.
My pack is very well organised and we have drilled routines, so everyone most of the time understand what to do.
Today, as I have around 00 building men, they had split into four groups, 25 in each, and sufficiently started four properties. After I visited the training centre and spoke to the warriors about the mission they are leaving for soon, I then went into the town and picked up masses of groceries for the new arrivals, also picked up some deliveries of equipment.
He seats himself at the table and continues to look down at his food, I openly stare at him, full well knowing he can feel my gaze on him.
The sound of chewing and our cutlery on the bowls are the only sounds enveloping the room, I sit there waiting for him to say something, anything; even if it's a simple 'thanks' but no I only hear silence.
That's it.
"This moping around won't help anyone, I've been out today and spent my time very well while you've made a few phone calls, after you've just tried to interpret those letters.
We all know what it means, they're here to take me. Stop being in denial, now start being real." I say equally exasperated, from the past few stressful days.

He looks at me wide eyed, not expecting that outburst but furthermore he nods, agreeing with my statement.
