"I'm not sure, I would say Russell but literally this morning I received another letter from him, so I doubt he'd go to the trouble to send out another round of men." I reply, Blake's face contorts to anger.
"Another letter? How many have you received? What did it say?" He quickly orders, his hands clenching and unclenching from anger.
"I think three so far, so I told you about the one with Ashton's pack members. I received one before just without a threat. However, this one asked who was going to be punished - me, Ashton or the pack." I respond, already knowing what answer I'm going to send back.
"No Adella, from the look on your face and the fact that I know you impeccably I know what you're thinking." Blake angrily says, ruffling his hand through his messy hair.
"Watch your tone and I have to and I will not be swayed, it's an Alpha's job to protect their own and that's exactly what I'm doing here. Don't tell Ashton or anyone else, that's an order." I say firmly, knowing they can't disobey an order without wanting to offer themselves to the trial of treason.
"Now James please sort out the pack ceremonies, have 100 per evening and we can do it in groups. They need to be done by the end of the week." He nods after my words and I take my leave.
All the men leave as well but I grab Ben's arm when he passes me and drag him back into the room.
"I'm offering myself up yes but everyone will have the need to find me, especially Ashton. You need to go to where we were before, if I am there great but if not try to find some clues." I softly say, my heart aching from the thought of leaving Ashton.
He nods respectfully and then we depart once again, I see a doctor walking out of Ashton's room and quickly run after him.
"Doctor how's he doing?" I say quickly, needing an answer. Something to ease my pain.
"He's not doing too well but he should make it." The doctor replies sympathetically, I nod my head and walk off.
Once I'm out of sight and sound of everyone, I weep a little. The tears flooding down my face. My body trembling, my wolf whimpers in agony at the loss of our mate. I know he might survive but I'm thinking the worst as everyone and everything in my life somehow leaves me.
I soon find myself encompassed by somebody's arms, I smell Lily and smile faintly into her. She rubs my back gently while I weep and slowly calm down. I pull my head out of her and say, "Thank you." She nods and gives me a final hug.
I run out the room and frantically call for a Doctor, most likely looking like a mad woman. I almost drag the main doctor back in and bombard him with questions about how he has memory loss.
"Well the bullet was silver and a small amount of that could've travelled to his heart or brain. I'm very shocked though that this has happened. Also he was only out around 15 hours." He says and takes his leave to get some equipment.
I go back towards the bed and sit down next to it, "C'mon baby, please remember." I say desperately.
He laughs, his body trembling with happiness, "Of course I remember you. How could I not love, I was only messing." He replies with a grin on his face.
My blood boils with anger and I storm out the room. I hear his calls for me but I'm too annoyed to reply. I go to the Doctor and inform him that he's fine, I then return to Ashton. In a very bad mood and temper.
"I ought to slap you for that, do you know what I've been through without you here. I thought you were going to die, and you think now is the time to play games." I all but scream at him, my voice monotone but slightly cracking at the end.
