We had started building and everything was fine until one evening, when I'd gone out of the mountains to get some resources and then I came back and the place was trashed. I found Adella unconcious and blood was surrounding her in many places, you know her face was beaten up along with blood from her thighs and all that. At that point she wasn't an Alpha and didn't have much training so she was pretty much defenceless, also she was quite a skinny girl. She was only after coming back from the place from Russell and so wasn't eating properly.
After the awful memories as well as all our hard work being destroyed we didn't stay in this part of the mountains. Which was fine as where we are now is so must better, for many reasons." He then stops and looks into the woods as we all continue walking, Nick and Theo looking into my eyes with sympathy.
"That's why she's so ferociously protective of her pack and especially you Ashton, even if you don't see it. I was worried for when she would meet her mate as it took a long time for her to open up to me and most people in the pack are in the dark of her past. I feared for her mate, that after all the betrayal and torture for the mind and body she wouldn't accept you. Obviosuly you two knew each other and that helps a lot as she can open up much easier.
If it had been someone unknown it would have taken her such a long time to tell her story which would have had bad effects of their wolves and the two individuals. As, because of how well I know her, she would have gone through heat and not caved in; despite the pain as she is so strong now.
That's why she's such an amazing Alpha, as despite her past she is still amazing and not letting that shape her. She would save everyone in your pack Ashton, even though she doesn't know them with a heartbeat. That's who she is." With that Blake walks ahead, still in vision but most likely needing his own time.
Nick and Theo grow closer and whisper amongst themselves, me not bothering to listen in and I take in the new information. My heart breaks for my mate, because of all that she has been through. Losing her parents as such a young age, leaving her pack, the betrayal from her sister, the torture for years from Russell and his men, then when she tries to get a new life started, she is beaten and raped once more. Unbelievable. If I could find all the people that have hurt her, I would rip them apart.
We all walk back in silence, now well into nightime so once we get back to the house, I dismiss everyone. I walk into the house, and for the first time that I've been here, it's void of my mate.
I walk into our bedroom and lie on our bed, taking one of her shirts in my hand and sniffing it. Needing her scent round me, almost to make up for the fact that she isn't here.
I don't realise but my eyes grow heavy and fall into a dreamless sleep clinging onto Adella's top.

"Don't apologise, I'm coming to get you. Do you know where you are?" He asks gently.
"No sorry, they knocked me out in the travel." I reply, feeling useless.
"Are you hurt? What does Russell want with you?" He questions.
"I've got a bullet wound in my left leg, few cuts and bruises on me from two fights. Your girl is a feisty one." I reply, purposely leaving out the part of what Russell wants; knowing that if I tell Ashton he'll go absolutely ballistic.
