They spread apart to let a man walk up to us. Lance growls at the rogue and lunges for him. The rogue with little effort and I stare at him shocked. I look at Lance and his isn't moving I am about to run to him when the man grabs my mom and I and drags us inside. I don't want to go with him or do what he wants, it doesn't look I have much of a choice though.

"Hello Mark, I am Wes, King of Rogues and you are coming with me." He said and then I felt something hit the back of my head and everything goes black.

Jace's POV

"Mom can't I go out today, it's my birthday after all. I haven't been outside or even above ground for a whole year. I don't even know why you have to do all of this." I beg my mom.

Today is my eighteenth birthday and I have been living in this underground shelter slash house for as long as I can remember. My mother says it's because I am the daughter of the strongest Alpha on the western coast of America. Every time she says that though she looks at her hands which is her tell for lying to someone. It really bugs me that she can't tell me why I am here though. Then I thought that maybe she doesn't even know why I have to be hidden either.

Today all I wanted was to go outside and maybe go to a mall to get some new clothes. The last time I got new clothes was almost a year and a half ago. I am tired of wearing the same things day after day, plus they are starting to fall apart. It would be the best birthday present ever if I could go shopping like a normal girl. I won't to have a girly shopping trip where I get over priced and fashionable clothing.

I also hope someday I will get out of this shelter so I can actually live my life and find my mate. At this rate I will die alone with no kids and in this shelter. I can't stay here forever and today I am eighteen and that means I am responsible for myself and I can make my own decisions. It is time that my mother realize that I am a grown up now and I can do whatever I want to.

"Mom I don't have to ask for your permission anymore I am an adult today, at least by law I am. I can make my own decisions. I don't think anything will happen to me today when there hasn't been anything out of the ordinary for eighteen years. Please just for today?" I ask her again.

"Fine but you are going with all of your guards and if anyone looks at you funny or if it seems like anyone is following you. You run back here and get one of your guards." She said.

"Thank you mom. Thank you, thank you, thank you." I yell jumping up and down for at least five minutes.
