I kissed Jay on the forehead before I left the room and sat down in the waiting room with the others. I knew she was going to be okay but I couldn't stop the tears that I was holding in from falling.
"She's going to be okay," Penny whispered putting a comforting arm around my shoulders. I nodded my head unable to say anything. I could've lost her today and just thinking about that made more tears stream down my cheeks.
We waited for what seemed like days to me but it was only a couple of hours. The door to Jay's room creaked open and Angie stepped out looking surprised. I jumped out of my seat and rushed over to her.
"Is she okay?!" I asked frantically.
Angie nodded, "Jay is fine. Her wounds have stopped bleeding and are healing nicely. All she needs is some rest and she should be awake soon."
I let out a relieved sigh, "that's great! Can I go see her?"
"There's something you should know before you go through that door." She stepped in front of me.
I growled. I wanted to see my mate!
"What is it?" Penny asked for me.
"Jay's pregnant."
The growl that was in the back of my throat died down immediately and I stopped breathing. Jay was pregnant with my pup. I was going to be a dad.
"But I thought you said all the tests came back negative?" Penny asked confused. My ears perked up at that.
"What are you going on about Penny?" I asked.
Penny sighed, "Jay was being sick and she told me that she was late for her period but when we went to Angie for some tests they all came back negative, so I don't understand how this is possible."
"I think I can help with that." Angie smiled. "I think that somehow Jay's wolf was able to hide the fact that she was pregnant to protect her child for when she was in battle, and when it was over and the danger was dealt with her wolf didn't have to hide it anymore."
