“Exactly,” Peter said, leaning forward, his voice low but urgent. “If we find something that doesn’t belong, it won’t just prove Devin is dead. It’ll mean someone moved his body. And if everything checks out, Devin might still be alive, just barely. No matter what, there’s definitely someone helping him. The real question is, who? What do they want? After Peter left, Phil walked with Conrad to the study. “Sir, Jason’s here to change your bandages.” Conrad had cuts and bruises all over.
