“After my accident, you really showed your true colors. Even after our divorce, not once did you check in on me. I guess you’ve found your own happiness now. No wonder the Salisbury family means nothing to you anymore.”

Wiona looked at him, calm and collected, even as she felt dozens of eyes darting their way, eager for gossip. She didn’t bother to swallow her pride. Instead, she gave him a slow, almost teasing smile, her words carrying just enough bite to reach every corner of the room.

“Mr. Salisbury, it’s your wedding day. Are you sure you want to dig up the past with me right now?”

Molly rushed over and yanked the waiter out of the way. “What the hell is wrong with you? You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

Drake stepped in front of Wiona, lowering his voice. “Ma’am, are you alright?”

He meant, had she been scared? If so, he wasn’t about to let it slide.
