"Yes," Juniper replied. "Just do exactly as I say. Leave the rest to me."

"Got it." Luella swallowed hard. She hesitated for a few seconds before asking, "Hey, who's more important to you? That fox Shanley, or your family?"

Hearing this, Shanley lowered his eyes, his gaze fixed on Juniper's face.

Juniper bit her lip and answered slowly, "My family, of course."

Shanley's heart suddenly went cold. But before the disappointment could settle, he heard her finish the thought.

"Because Shanley *is* my family."

Shanley let out a long breath. With those words, he would gladly hand his life over to her.
