"Not gonna lie, I'm pretty curious about this Lorelei."
Luella leaned in close to Jimmie, lowering her voice. "Juniper said she's like a classic beauty stepping right out of a vintage painting. Completely elegant and refined in every single move."
"And you know Juniper. She absolutely adores women with that kind of timeless charm."
"Who does she adore?"
Jimmie frowned, lightly pinching her cheek. "Luella, explain yourself!"
"Tch."
Luella batted his hand away, shooting him a hard glare. "Someone's jealous, aren't they, Superstar?"
"Damn right I am."
Jimmie didn't hesitate to admit it, wrapping his arm tightly around her waist. His tone was dead serious. "I have to be jealous of Juniper, and now I have to be jealous of Harold's wife too? Mrs. Tate, your husband isn't built to just sit back and take it."
Luella was practically speechless. She glanced around at the others, then quickly went on her tiptoes to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth, her eyes crinkling into a smile. "I love you the most."
"Mhm."
Jimmie looked thoroughly satisfied. He wrapped Luella's hand in his own and looked over at Celine. "How have your checkups been? Is the baby doing well?"
"Everything's great, Jimmie."
Celine rubbed her five-month baby bump, round and firm. "When are you and Luella going to have one of your own?"
"It's too soon for that."
Jimmie glanced at Luella, keeping his voice low. "We just got married. Popping out a little brat right now would just ruin the vibe."
"Once yours is born, I'll just let her borrow it to play with."
Celine's expression instantly shifted as she instinctively took a step back, pouting. "Why does everyone want to borrow my baby to play with?"
"Who else said that?" Luella leaned in, instantly curious.
"Juniper," Celine answered, caught between exasperation and amusement. "She called dibs ages ago. Said I had to let her borrow the baby for a few days."
Her son wasn't even born yet, and he was already being treated like a toy.
"Is that right?" Luella looked absolutely thrilled, throwing her hand in the air. "Then Juniper gets first dibs, and I call next!"
"Ahem."
Warren pressed his fist against his lips and coughed, politely reminding them that the child did, in fact, have a father standing right there.
