On the highway.
Rocco's car hadn't made it very far when the steering wheel suddenly locked up.
"What's going on?" Rocco demanded coldly from the backseat.
"Boss, the brakes aren't working."
The driver desperately yanked the steering wheel. The car swerved violently, careening erratically down the road.
"Stop! Stop right now!"
Amidst Rocco's furious roars, the car slammed violently into the guardrail.
"Ah—"
Rocco hadn't been wearing his seatbelt. His head smashed brutally against the car window.
The glass shattered, cutting into his face and knocking out two of his teeth as crimson blood dripped down.
"Boss, are you okay?"
The driver had emerged unscathed but was utterly terrified, stammering his question.
"Smack—"
Rocco instantly backhanded him across the face. Clutching his bloody face, he hissed in pain, "How the hell could there be a problem with the car?"
"Boss, we checked it thoroughly before we came. There was nothing wrong with it." The driver trembled in fear. "Could Coralie Quill have secretly tampered with it?"
Rocco stiffened, a ferocious, murderous intent flashing in his eyes.
Coralie Quill?
If it wasn't her, who else could it be?
Rocco gritted his teeth and roared, "Coralie Quill and I are enemies for life!"
—
At the villa.
Having handled the casino mess, Coralie returned home completely exhausted.
Channing knelt on the floor and helped her change into a pair of comfortable slippers.
Coralie loved to mess with him, playfully resting her feet right against his knees.
Channing simply smiled faintly, letting her do as she pleased.
"I heard Rocco got into a car crash on his way back. Smashed his head and lost two teeth." Coralie fixed her watery eyes on him, sounding completely certain. "You did that, didn't you?!"
"I did." Channing held her ankle and gently wiped it clean.
"Holding a grudge, are we?" Coralie arched an eyebrow with a smirk.
