“But what does that matter? I have all the time in the world. I’ll spend the rest of my life waiting for her if I have to!”
Even if he didn't have the official title of “husband,” just being allowed by her side was enough.
A hopeless romantic to the core!
“Take good care of her.”
Seeing that he had everything completely figured out, Juniper didn't press further. She only issued a stern warning. “Your status is a double-edged sword. You better protect Coralie. If she suffers even the slightest scratch, don't expect Caelus to see another peaceful day.”
The long-range artillery Subterra Vanguard had recently developed was more than capable of reaching Caelus territory.
“Don't worry. I will protect her and the baby with my life.”
Channing stood up, respectfully bowing his head. “As for my identity, I ask that Ms. Payne and Mr. Schwartz keep it a secret for now.”
If he was exposed now, Coralie would absolutely skin him alive.
Winning her back would become an impossible uphill battle.
“It better stay a secret!”
Juniper retracted her gaze and looked at Shanley, letting out a soft yawn. “I’m sleepy. Let's head back.”
“Mm.”
Shanley wrapped an arm around her shoulder. The two chatted warmly as they walked back, their blatant affection making anyone who saw them envious.

After Coralie finished her work for the day, she returned to her suite.
She found Juniper lounging on her bed, legs kicked up, deeply engrossed in a mobile game.
“Where’s the old fox?” Coralie asked, glancing around the room in confusion.
“Next door. He’s sleeping alone in the guest room tonight!” Juniper threw back the covers and patted the empty space beside her, a wicked smirk on her lips. “Forget about him. Come sleep in here with me!”
“Deal!”
Coralie beamed. She took a quick shower, climbed into bed beside her sister, hugged Juniper’s arm, and nuzzled against her. “Juniper, what brought you to Caelus so suddenly?”
“I was worried about you, obviously. I thought you might have lost your golden retriever and were secretly crying your eyes out.” Juniper looked down at her sister’s blissfully content face, her own mood brightening. “But seeing how well you’re doing, I can finally report back to the family.”
“I’m totally fine.”
