“So, that's his game,” Shanley murmured, his eyes turning colder as he glanced to the side. It was the same tactic he had once used to bomb a Subterra Vanguard ship. Now, it was payback time.

“Forget this ship. Everyone else, get after Specter,” Shanley ordered, his voice laced with ice.

All the port exits were sealed. In this war, only the living would walk away.

“Juniper, that bastard from Sigma Network is on our tail!” Luella clenched her fists as she watched the tracker's display. “That old man… making a move in this thick fog? He’s got a death wish!”

“Fine by me.” Juniper set down her milkshake, picked up her weapon, and walked out of the cabin. “Get the drones in the air. I want the exact location of Sigma Network's leader.”

“Drones away,” Luella commanded, and the machines took to the sky once more, dodging Sigma Network’s interference to send back a clear picture.

“You stay here and command the others,” Juniper said, her tone serious as she looked at Luella. “And bring Sigma Network’s cargo ship back to our base.”

“What?” Luella stared, not quite processing it. “We’re not fighting them?”

“Whether their leader lives or dies doesn’t matter as much as getting all our people out alive.” Juniper’s lips curved into a faint smile. “I estimate that cargo is worth at least three hundred million. Once you have the cargo, don't get tied down in a fight. Get our people out of here immediately. I’m all that’s needed to handle Sigma Network.”

Once she took care of their leader, the rest would be nothing more than a disorganized mess.

“How can you be sure he's on that ship?” Luella grabbed Juniper’s arm, her face etched with worry. “What if that old bastard is just bluffing, trying to lure you into a trap?”

“I saw his gloves.” As she spoke, Juniper loaded her weapon, her gaze unyielding. “The bullet from that gun nearly shattered my skull. You think I could ever forget them?”
