"Steve! You are finally awake!" Ella cried out, rushing forward to throw herself over the bed the moment she saw her son's eyes open.

Steve had absolutely no interest in his mother's tears. His gaze swept frantically around the spacious hospital room, searching for a familiar silhouette, but the room was empty. He reached out and grabbed Ella's wrist, his voice completely raw with panic.

"Where is Sylvia? Where did Sylvia go?"

Ella had been wiping her tears, but the moment she heard that name, her face twisted in rage. She aggressively scrubbed her eyes and practically spat her words through clenched teeth.

"That jinx is gone! Look at what she reduced you to! If it were not for her, you would not have almost lost your life in Fiji!" Ella's chest heaved as her anger boiled over. Ella froze, genuinely startled by the terrifying, beast like expression on her son's face. Belatedly, she realized that his attitude toward Sylvia had completely changed. She swallowed hard, trying to maintain her bravado.

"I... I thought you always hated her? I did not do much, I just put some pressure on the Moore family! I warned them that if Sylvia ever takes half a step near you again, I will wipe their entire family out of the Capital!"
