That loud smack immediately woke the sleeping Dolly. The moment the little girl opened her eyes and saw her brother kissing their mother, she was having none of it. She scrambled up and started shoving Joey with her little hands, acting incredibly bossy. After pushing her brother aside, she dove headfirst into her mother's arms, grabbed Emmy's face, and started showering her with frantic kisses. As she kissed, she drooled, instantly smearing saliva all over Emmy's cheeks.

Emmy laughed out loud, gently lifting a hand to block the overly enthusiastic little girl. "Alright, alright, Mommy's face is about to be washed clean by your drool."

Dolly clung to her neck, refusing to let go, smiling so widely her eyes crinkled into little crescents. "Love Mommy! Mommy kisses!"

The mother and her two children wrestled playfully on the large bed, their long lost laughter filling every corner of the room.
