Her expression then turned a fraction more serious. "Oh, by the way, Emmy. When I went to St. Peter’s Cathedral, I ran into Bishop Silas right as I got out of the car. He asked me to pass a message to you."

Emmy was intrigued. "What message?"

Teresa thought for a moment, attempting to mimic the Bishop's profound, enigmatic tone. "He said, 'You are the cause, you are the consequence, and you are the resolution. When the day comes, ten thousand mountains will be nothing but shadows behind you, and your light skiff will have already sailed beyond the clouds.'"

Emmy's heart jolted violently. A sudden, burning need to confirm something surged through her. "Is Bishop Silas still at the cathedral? Once everything here settles down, I want to pay him a visit."
